Two Classes of Vehicle, One Standard of Service

Every journey is carried out in one of two classes: the Executive Eco for smaller parties, and the Premium Van when there are more people or more luggage. They are priced differently because they cost different amounts to run, but the service around them is identical. The same English-speaking chauffeur, the same fixed price worked out on real road distance, the same door-to-door pickup, and the same meet and greet with a name sign if you are arriving by air.

Whichever class you choose, the vehicle is yours alone for that journey. Nobody else is collected on the way, there is no shuttle route calling at six hotels, and no meter counts up while you sit at a red light. You are not buying a seat; you are booking the whole car and the chauffeur who drives it.

Capacity and rate at a glance

Executive Eco€2.00 / kmUp to 4 passengers and 3 large cases. Minimum fare €85. €1.80 / km after the first 100 km.
Premium Van€3.20 / kmUp to 8 passengers and 8 large cases. Minimum fare €150. €2.80 / km after the first 100 km.

Those passenger and luggage figures are working limits rather than optimistic ones. If your party sits right on the edge of a limit, tell us and we will say plainly which class fits. How the rate is applied to your route is set out on the pricing page.

Executive Eco

€2.00 per kilometre (€1.80 after 100 km) — minimum fare €85 — up to 4 passengers and 3 large cases.

The Executive Eco is the class most of our customers travel in, and it is ideal for couples, families and business travellers. A quiet, comfortable car with a proper boot, driven by a chauffeur who meets you at the door rather than at the end of a taxi queue.

It handles an airport run into the city with two people and two cases, a business appointment across Paris, a family trip out to Versailles, and long journeys well beyond the Paris region just as easily as short ones. Because the price is set on road distance rather than on the clock, a slow crawl through the city costs no more than an open motorway.

Premium Van

€3.20 per kilometre (€2.80 after 100 km) — minimum fare €150 — up to 8 passengers and 8 large cases.

The Premium Van is built for families, groups and travellers carrying more than a car boot will take. Eight passengers travel with room around them, and eight large cases go in without anyone holding a bag on their knees for the whole journey.

It is the sensible answer for a family landing off a long-haul flight with a pushchair, for colleagues travelling together to the same meeting, and for a day out where coats, bags and shopping accumulate through the afternoon. The higher rate per kilometre reflects the size of the vehicle, not a different level of service.

How to Choose Between Them

Two questions settle it almost every time: how many people are travelling, and how many large cases are coming with them. Answer for the real situation rather than the hopeful one.

Count every passenger

Children travelling in their own seat count as passengers, whatever their age. Two adults and three children is five people, which means the Premium Van even if the luggage would have fitted in the car.

Count the cases honestly

Luggage decides the vehicle as often as passengers do. Four people with four large cases will not fit into the Executive Eco, however comfortably the four of them would have sat in it.

Think about the whole journey

On a short hop across town, being snug for twenty minutes is tolerable. On a long run out of the Paris region, the extra space in the Premium Van is usually worth the difference in the rate.

Bulky items take real space

Skis, golf clubs, a musical instrument, a folded wheelchair or a large pushchair each take roughly the room of a case, sometimes more. Mention them when you book so we plan for them.

Compare both prices first

The booking calculator prices both classes for your exact route at the same moment, so the difference between them is a real figure for your journey rather than an abstraction.

Still not sure? Ask

Send us the number of passengers, the number of large cases and anything awkward you are carrying. We would far rather send the vehicle that fits than the one that looks cheaper on screen.

What Counts as a Large Case

Luggage limits only mean something if everyone is counting the same way, so here is what we mean by each term.

  • A large case is a full-size suitcase of the sort you check into the aircraft hold. It stands upright on its own wheels and it needs a boot space of its own. A big holdall or a full rucksack of similar bulk counts as one too.
  • A cabin bag is the small case you take on board with you, or a rucksack or shoulder bag of about that size. Cabin bags travel alongside the large cases and are not counted against the large-case limit for a normal party.
  • Handbags, laptop bags and camera bags stay with you in the cabin of the vehicle and are not counted at all.

So four passengers with three large cases and four cabin bags is an ordinary Executive Eco booking. Four passengers with six large cases is not, and would travel in the Premium Van. If you are close to the line, count generously; it costs nothing to declare a case you end up not bringing, and a great deal of trouble to arrive with one we were not expecting.

Anything unusually long, heavy or fragile — skis, a bicycle, sports equipment, a musical instrument — should be mentioned at the time of booking. None of it is a problem in itself. It simply needs to be planned for rather than discovered on the pavement.

Child Seats and Larger Groups

Child and booster seats on request

Child seats and booster seats are available on request in either class of vehicle. Ask for them when you book and tell us the age and rough height of each child, so the right kind of seat is fitted before we set off rather than improvised at the kerb. A folded pushchair travels with no difficulty, though it takes roughly the space of a large case, which is worth remembering when you count your luggage.

If your group is larger than eight

Eight passengers is the limit of a single Premium Van. Beyond that we arrange more than one vehicle for the same journey, so the whole party leaves together, follows the same route and arrives together. Each vehicle is priced on the same road distance at its own rate, so a group of twelve travelling in a Premium Van plus an Executive Eco can see both figures before deciding. Send us your total passenger and luggage numbers and we will set it up.

Vehicle Questions

Two of us with two suitcases — which vehicle do we need?

The Executive Eco. It carries up to 4 passengers with up to 3 large cases, so two people with two cases sit well inside the limit, with room left for cabin bags.

Can five people travel in the Executive Eco?

No. Four passengers is the limit, and it is a real limit rather than a soft one. A party of five travels in the Premium Van, which takes up to 8.

Will you tell me the exact car before I travel?

We book by class rather than by model, so what your confirmation sets out is the class, the passenger and luggage capacity and the price. If you have a specific requirement for a journey, message us on WhatsApp before you book and we will tell you honestly whether we can meet it.

Is the Premium Van more expensive for the same route?

Yes. It is a Mercedes V-Class with a TV screen and a starlight headliner, charged at €3.20 per kilometre against €2.00 for the Executive Eco, with a minimum fare of €150 rather than €85. On the set-price routes the difference is fixed: CDG to Paris is €160 against €90. The calculator shows both figures for your own route, so you can see exactly what the difference comes to before choosing.

What happens if my luggage does not fit on the day?

The vehicle is chosen from what you tell us at the time of booking, which is why counting carefully matters more than any other detail. If your plans change and you end up with more cases than you declared, tell us as soon as you know and we will adjust the booking rather than leave you standing beside a full boot.

Can you carry a wheelchair, skis or sports equipment?

In most cases yes, in the Premium Van. Tell us exactly what you are bringing when you book, including a folding wheelchair, so we can confirm it before you travel rather than on arrival.

Will we be sharing the vehicle with other passengers?

Never. Every booking is private. The vehicle carries your party and nobody else, and it goes directly from your pickup point to your destination unless you have asked us for a stop.

Which vehicle is better for a long journey with children?

Almost always the Premium Van. Once you add child seats, a pushchair and hold luggage to a family, the space in the car goes quickly, and on a long route the extra room makes a noticeable difference. See long distance transfers for how those journeys work.
